Stay Hydrated - 5 Tips To Drink More Water

Your body is made up of 60% water. It fuels the chemical reactions in the body, lubricates your joints and keeps your body supple throughout the day.

It’s safe to say that water is important.

As a rough estimate, you should be drinking 25ml per kilogram, but this of-course depends on the climate you live in, the amount of training you do and your lifestyle.

Most of us don’t drink enough water, leaving us dehydrated, tired and missing a vital ingredient for so many important functions.

We include upping our water intake on the 5th week of our 6-week challenge. If you haven’t already tried the 6-week challenge, you’re missing out. We’ve collated 20+ years of combined experience, transforming thousands of people’s lives, who are just like you to lose fat, tone up, and bulletproof their bodies through bodyweight training, stacking habits, and top-tier accountability.

So, how do we drink more water?

1) Keep a full bottle with you at all times! Ever been to the cinema, brought a pack of sweets, and notice that in 20 minutes the packet has gone? I know right - who ate that? But when it’s there, we will pick at it, without even thinking about it. Having a water bottle with you at all times will mean you go to reach for it more and more, upping your water intake throughout the day.

2) Attach it to your bag. How many times have you lost your water bottle? So annoying! If you have a carabiner on the bottle, you will automatically attach the bottle to your bag, so you won’t lose it! It will just feel strange to not have it on your bag.

3) Track your intake. If you really want to level up your water intake and make sure you're drinking the right amount, then measure your intake. What gets measured gets managed, and so by tracking how many bottles you drink per day, you can know for certain you’re drinking enough. Also, by tracking, you gain awareness. If you don’t track, you’ll never quite know if you’re drinking enough!

4) Always have a bottle in the fridge. There is nothing like nice cold water! Always have a bottle ready to go in the fridge, so when you come home, or you do get a quench for thirst, you can appreciate the cold water. Just make sure to refill it straight after! TOP TIP: add some lemon to the water to make it taste even better!

5) Aim to get most of the water in the morning. We’ve gone 8+ hours overnight with no water, so you’re most dehydrated thirst (see what I did there?) thing in the morning. Try and get half of your daily water intake in first thing in the morning, with nice cold water to kickstart your metabolism and make sure that you’re fuelled and ready for the day!
